The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Hohenwald is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Office Technology Instructor.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education or related field from an accredited college or university. Degree should reflect a major in business technology or related field with emphasis on accounting and computer skills.
Three to five years of successful, recent, employment experience in the area of business. Two years of teaching experience preferred.
Ability to teach general office procedures, business-related math, English, and computer applications; knowledge of medical terminology/transcription is helpful.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
Candidate must be ready to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
Technology is a major factor in this program. Candidate must be willing to stay up-to-date on current and upcoming office technology.
Must be proficient in MS Office, MS Windows, and QuickBooks; possess good business English and math skills.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationship with students, faculty, staff, general public and good working relations with local business and industry leaders.
Capable of meeting deadlines and adjusting to changing priorities.
Strong teaching ability that allows you to work with a diverse group of students.
Desire to quickly gain new skills and knowledge when faced with new challenges.
Close attention to detail.
Willingness to work as part of a team with strong human relation skills.
Teach all phases of the Administrative Office Technology program in a post-secondary setting including; accounting, customer service, and medical administrative assistant.
Participate in professional development activities as needed to remain current in the field and maintain an active advisory committee.
Maintain strong relations with local business and industry to help program graduates obtain employment.
Other duties include curriculum development, student recordkeeping, student recruitment, placement, follow-up of program graduate, and budgeting.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, education, and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
