Ten post-secondary Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Oneida/Huntsville students have been recognized by their instructors and nominated to be a finalist for the 2019 Tennessee College of Applied Technology–Oneida/Huntsville Student Excellence Award. The nominees were interviewed by a panel of local business and community leaders. According to Noah Duncan, Success Coach for TCAT - Oneida/Huntsville, "The purpose of the Student Excellence Award is to recognize outstanding achievement by students attending Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology. The award, based on excellence in leadership and ability, is part of the Board of Regent College System of Tennessee’s SOAR awards. The winner will compete with eight other colleges’ student excellence award winners for the East Tennessee Regional title on November 1, 2020. Then, the regional winner will compete for the state title in March 2020.” Chosen as TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville Student Excellence Award nominees were the following students: Cathrine Musselman, Administrative Office Technology; Bobby Dazey, Automotive Technology; Jordan Watson, Collision Repair Technology; Joey Ward, Computer Information Technology; Chris Rogers, Machine Tool Technology; Shannon Capley, Pharmacy Technology; Ryan Acres, Power Line Construction and Maintenance; Haley Muse and Jacquetta Hicks, Practical Nursing; and Riley Brown, Welding Technology.
