Tennessee College of Applied Technology- Oneida/Huntsville’s President Dwight Murphy is pleased to announce that Devin Fairchild, a senior at Oneida High School enrolled in the Machine Tool Technology program has been chosen as the Secondary “Student of the Month” for March 2018. Devin states, “To me machinist work is like solving a puzzle. It does not seem like repetitive work to me. It’s more like a hobby. I have always enjoyed making things the way I wanted them to be, that is why I would like working in fabrication. My papaw, Gillis Hicks, and my MTT instructor, Jared Terry, have influenced my skills and my thinking process. I’m glad I came to the machine tool program this year because I now know I have found my career path.” The Machine Tool Technology instructor, Jared Terry comments, “Devin has a great mindset for machining, and he has a good work ethic to go with it. I look forward to his enrolling after high school in the adult MTT program.”
