Tennessee College of Applied Technology will offer an Emergency Medical Technology program in Fentress County beginning January 2025.
The EMT program will begin Jan. 3 with basic training, then progress to advanced training during the second trimester. By the end of two trimesters, students will receive their advanced EMT certificate. In all, the EMT class requires 600 hours to complete.
The program will be held on the campus of York Agricultural Institute. Class will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. central time.
The Fentress County evening EMT class will be one of two offered by TCAT Oneida/Huntsville beginning with the spring trimester. At the Oneida campus, a dual-enrollment basic EMT class will be offered from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. eastern time, while an advanced EMT class will be offered from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
