Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Oneida/Huntsville’s president Dwight Murphy is pleased to announce that Katelyn Hamby of the administrative office technology program has been selected as the post-secondary “Student of the Month” for April 2019.
While in College, Katelyn has received six Microsoft Office certifications in Word, Word Expert, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook 2016. She is working toward her Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification. Also in college, Katelyn participated in SkillsUSA and assisted with tours, Open House, and Secondary Signing Day. Katelyn has a 96 GPA and is a National Technical Honor Society member. Katelyn represented TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville in Nashville at the Day on the Hill National Technical Honor Society award luncheon.
Katelyn states, “Attending college at TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville has been one of the best decisions I have made. It has gotten me out of my comfort zone to further my knowledge concerning computer software and improve my communication skills. The training I’ve received is opening doors for my career choices in the administrative office field. Janet Watson, my instructor, is an excellent teacher, and the class environment is friendly and great for learning. If you are a hands-on learner TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville is the college for you. I’m glad I chose to enroll here.” Katelyn is the daughter of Allen and Donna Hamby.
