The teams at TCAT Oneida/Huntsville and TCAT Jacksboro are the foundation for what we can do when we work together. President Dwight Murphy spearheaded the partnership that brought together two technical colleges in Tennessee and a community college in Kentucky. The partnership between TCAT Oneida/Huntsville, TCAT Jacksboro, and Somerset Community College brings an ARC Power Grant in the amount of $1,546,400 to the region serving seven distressed counties (Scott, Morgan, Fentress in Tennessee and McCreary, Clay, Wayne, and Whitley in Kentucky) and one transitional county (Campbell) in Tennessee. Nine school systems, drug courts, jails, chambers of commerce, three development districts, America's Job Centers, local governments, nonprofits, and local businesses and industries came together to drive the initiative to implement 12 new skill training programs. The collaborative was recognized by the Tennessee Board of Regents as the Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Partnership Award at the Board's quarterly meeting held on April 7, 2020.
