Eight post-secondary students enrolled at Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Oneida/Huntsville have been recognized by their instructors and nominated as a finalist for the 2018 Tennessee College of Applied Technology–Oneida/Huntsville Outstanding Achievement Award. They each were interviewed by a panel of local business and community leaders. According to Noah Duncan, award coordinator for TCAT - Oneida/Huntsville, "The purpose of the Outstanding Achievement Award is to recognize outstanding achievement by students attending Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology. This title is based on excellence in leadership and ability. The winner will compete with eight other colleges’ outstanding achievement award winners for the East Tennessee Regional title in January 2019. The regional winner will then compete for the state title in March 2019.” Chosen as TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville Outstanding Achievement Award nominees were the following students: Katelyn Hamby, Administrative Office Technology; Brandon Morgan, Automotive Technology; Joey Ward, Computer Information Technology; Katelyn Myers, Pharmacy Technology; Shonda Hatfield and Kacey Coffey Practical Nursing; and Bailey Brooks and Caleb Harris, Welding Technology.
