Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Oneida/Huntsville held its graduation ceremony on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Oneida High School Performing Arts Building. Forty-one of the graduates participated in the commencement. The honored guests and graduates entered with the processional being played by pianist Jeannie Duncan. Next, Ricky Wiseman, Administrative Office Technology graduate gave the invocation. Followed by the National Anthem being sung by Kim Kidd, Christin Neal, and Brooke West. All were welcomed by TCAT - Oneida/Huntsville’s Assistant Director Amy West, and Cosmetology graduate Jamie Terry welcomed the guest on behalf of the student body. Dwight Murphy President of TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville introduced the speakers. First, Pharmacy Technician graduate and TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville’s 2016 Outstanding Student of the Year Latosha Cross spoke to the attendees, and next Jamie Bowling TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville Computer Information Technology alumni and now IT Manager of the Big South Fork Medical Center spoke. Jennifer Trammell, Student Services Coordinator presented the special certificates and awards with President Murphy and Assistant Director West presenting the diplomas and certificates. Those students receiving diplomas or certificates were as follows: Administrative Office Technology –Lakeshia Cabbage, Sonja Doyle, Montana Goodman, Karah Hutson, Vanita Phillips, Ricky Wiseman, and Sandra York. Automotive Technology – Grant Clemens, David Gibson, Logan Harness and Shawn Wright. Certified Nursing Assistant – Natashia Cotton, Chelsie Farr, and Jerrie Harness. Computer Information Technology – Jordan Ford and Joshua Hinson. Cosmetology – Marleesa Byrd, Sarah Stephens, Rebekah Strunk, Destiney Terry, and Jaime Terry. Emergency Medical Technician – Sabrina Chambers, Misty Chitwood, Katrina Duncan, Olivia Shannon, and Dustin Smith. Pharmacy Technology – Shana Acres, Latosha Cross, Makayla Cross, Trista Jeffers, Carolyn Linder, Jordan McCoy, Erica Phillips, and Elizabeth Stephens. Practical Nursing – Jericha Adkins, Mikayla Cash, Steven Koty Duncan, Praylee Harris, Candace Jones, Heather Phillips, and Tianne West. The special awards and certificates were given as follows: SkillsUSA contestants — Lakeshia Cabbage, Montana Goodman, Ricky Wiseman, Sarah Stephens, and Destiney Terry. Student Government — Lakeshia Cabbage, David Gibson, Rebekah Strunk, Jaime Terry, and Olivia Shannon. National Technical Honor Society –Lakeshia Cabbage and Ricky Wiseman. A Average – Lakeshia Cabbage, Montana Goodman, Vanita Phillips, Ricky Wiseman, Sandra York, David Gibson, Natashia Cotton, Jaime Terry, Olivia Shannon, Dustin Smith, Shana Acres, Latosha Cross, Makayla Cross, Carolyn Linder, Jordan McCoy, Elizabeth Stephens, and Jericha Adkins. Perfect Attendance— Chelsie Farr. Rae Ellis, Practical Nursing Coordinator led the Practical Nursing students in the Practical Nursing pledge, and Casey Byrd led the Pharmacy Technician students in the Pharmacy Technician oath. In closing, Administrative Office Technology graduate Ricky Wiseman led the benediction.
