Practical Nursing

About

This twelve-month course leads to a satisfying and well-paying career in the health care field. The practical nurse works with the registered nurse and doctor in caring for the sick or injured. The course combines classroom instruction with clinical experience. Instruction covers Vocational Relationships, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Nursing Principles and Skills, Maternity, and Pediatrics as well as disease processes. In the clinical area, students are supervised by a clinical instructor while they care for medical, surgical, obstetric and pediatric patients in addition to administering medications.
