This program is designed to provide basic and advanced training for emergency medical care and transportation fro critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. Emergency Medical Technicians function as a part of a comprehensive Emergency Medical System response, under medical oversight. EMTs perform interventions with the basic equipment found on an ambulance. This class is located at the Oneida extension site at 180 Eli Lane, Oneida, TN.

Students must score 80 or above on COMPASS Reading or have 19 or above on ACT Reading.

Complete a background check to include a 10-panel drug screen
Submit a physical examination form indicating physical health sufficient to perform the duties of an EMT completed by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner, who has examined the
individual. If there are any limitations in the individual's ability to perform adequately, additional documentation shall be submitted from the appropriate professional evaluator which indicates the
applicant’s abilities to perform adequately (i.e.):
Speech impairment - Speech Pathologist;
Hearing impairment - Audiologist;
Physical handicap or disability - Orthopedist or Registered
Physical Therapist; or
Vision – Ophthalmologist.
Students may be readmitted into the program one(1) time. Students must submit an application for readmission 30 days prior to the start of class. TCAT-Oneida does not discrimnate with respect to race, color, creed, sex, age, handicaps or natinal origin.
Students shall be subject to dismissal from the educational program for cause.
